Parador

The parador is located in a hill from which it dominates the natural beauty of the Plains of Alava, the Gorbea mountain range and the Ullibarri Gamboa reservoir. The surroundings invite you to wander around the small, pleasant village of Argomaiz, also ideal for enjoying the beautiful natural spaces.
From the parador one can visit the capital of the province, Vitoria, which has many gothic monuments to be seen and Logro o with its famous Baroque cathedral. 1208AB.
The parador occupies a splendid Renaissance palace where Napoleon regained his strength before attacking the town of Vitoria, boast the Larrea family coat of arms on the facade of the building and a wonderful interior atmosphere, with the spacious living rooms standing out.
Its magnificent 53 bedrooms are adorned and enchanted by the charm of its wood, a noble material which is also present in its unequalled dining room.
Large room which can accommodate 250 people. Typical dishes of the region are los caracoles (snails) and when they are in season, los perros chicos (a type of mushroom). Tasty cheeses from the mountainside be enjoyed along with worldwide known Rioja wines.
Renaissance ornaments preserve the nobility of this parador with beamed ceilings, stoned walls and ancient wooden furniture.
